Prunus Cerasus
Cherry Stalks / Prunus Cerasus / Dried Cherry Tails Stalks / Cherry Stems / Cherry Stalks Tea / Cherry Stems Tea / Cerasorum Stipites
Origin: Bulgaria
Botanical Name: Prunus Cerasus
Prunus cerasus (sour cherry, tart cherry, or dwarf cherry) is a species of Prunus in the subgenus Cerasus (cherries), native to much of Europe, North Africa and West Asia. It is closely related to the sweet cherry (Prunus avium), but has a fruit that is more acidic. Its sour pulp is edible. The stalks of Prunus cerasus, commonly known as sour cherry or tart cherry, refer to the thin, green stems that connect the cherries to the tree. These stalks, also called cherry stems or pedicels, provide support to the fruit and play a role in nutrient transportation.
The flavor of cherry stalk tea is typically mild and slightly fruity, with a hint of tartness.
Usage: Add 1 pinch of cherry stalks to 2 glasses of water and preserve for 5-10 minutes. Strain.
