Fig Leaf Tea BULK 1 lb - 2 lbs | Organic Bulk Herbs | Ficus Carica | Herbal Tea
Origin: Bulgaria
Botanical Name: Ficus Carica Folia
The fig is the edible fruit of Ficus carica, a species of small tree in the flowering plant family Moraceae, native to the Mediterranean region, together with western and southern Asia. It has been cultivated since ancient times and is now widely grown throughout the world.
Fig leaf tea is a herbal infusion made from the leaves of the common fig tree (Ficus carica). Fig leaf tea has a unique, mild flavor. It is often described as slightly sweet and nutty, with hints of coconut or vanilla. The taste can vary depending on the freshness of the leaves and the brewing method used.
Using: Pour 2 tablespoons of the herb with 500 ml of boiling water. Soak for 1 hour and drink.
Traditional Use
Fig leaf tea is a fragrant, gently sweet infusion that smells just like the fig fruit itself. The leaves are traditionally used:
- To support healthy blood sugar levels as part of a balanced diet
- To soothe the throat and support the respiratory system in the cold season
- To support gentle, regular digestion
- To support the body's natural elimination of fluids
- As a natural source of flavonoid antioxidants
- Externally, as a wash for the skin and a soothing gargle
