Lavandin Flower

Lavender Flowers / Lavandin Flower / Organic Dried Lavender Buds / %100 Natural Bulgarian Lavandula / Dried Flowers

Origin: Bulgaria
Botanical Name: Lavandula
Other Names: True lavender, Spike lavender, Lavandin, Aspic, Nard, Elf leaf, Garden lavender, Old English lavender, Lavender blossom, Lavender sprigs

Lavandula is a genus of 47 known species of flowering plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae. Many members of the genus are cultivated extensively in temperate climates as ornamental plants for garden and landscape use, for use as culinary herbs, and also commercially for the extraction of essential oils. For most cooking applications the dried buds, which are also referred to as flowers, are used. Lavender greens have a more subtle flavor when compared to rosemary.

Usage:
-You can use dried flowers as herbal tea. To brew lavender tea, put one or two teaspoons of its flowers in a glass of water that has already been boiled. The top is closed and left to brew for five minutes.
-You can add two liters of boiling water to 100 grams of lavender flowers and add it to the bath water by filtering it after brewing for five minutes.

We usually use lavender in decoctions placed between laundry, in air perfumes, body lotions and soaps.

Bulgarian lavender has a deeper, more fixative scent with a herbaceous tone. Meanwhile French lavender has a lighter more floral tone. Aromatic Summary / Note / Strength of Aroma: A top note of strong aroma, Lavender (Bulgaria) has a rich floral scent that is somewhat fruitier, mellower and less camphoraceous than Lavender 40/42, and smells more like fresh lavender.

Traditional Use

Bulgaria is one of the world's leading lavender growers, and its lavender is known for a rich, sweet scent. The flowers are traditionally used:

  • In sachets, sleep pillows and wardrobes, for a fresh scent
