Azadirachtae Idica

Neem Leaf / Azadirachtae Idica / Neem Leaf Tea / Herbal Blends / Dried Loose Leaf

ORIGIN OF BULGARIA
Botanical Name: Azadirachtae Idica
Other Names: Neem tree leaf, Indian lilac, Indian neem, Nim, Margosa

Neem Leaf / Azadirachta indica belongs to the Meliaceae (mahogany) family and is obtained from an evergreen tree. Neem leaves are commonly dried and used for preparing herbal tea, in natural care routines, and in various botanical blends. Dried neem leaves can be placed in small cloth bags and kept in closets, drawers, or shoe cabinets. This is a natural way to help repel unwanted insects. The flavor profile is quite distinctive: neem leaf has a noticeably bitter, sharp, and slightly woody taste.

Usage: Pour one cup of hot (not boiling) water over one teaspoon of dried neem leaves and let it steep for about five to seven minutes. Then strain and drink. Due to its strong flavor, the steeping time and amount used can be adjusted according to personal preference.

Traditional Use

Neem is a revered tree of India, called "the village pharmacy" in Ayurvedic tradition. The leaves are traditionally used:

  • As a cleansing herb, to support the body's natural detox processes
  • To support clear, healthy-looking skin, as a tea or face mask with water or rose water
  • To support the body's natural defenses
  • To support oral health, fresh breath and healthy gums
  • As a natural insect repellent in the home and garden

Harvest & Character

100% natural, whole dried neem leaves with no additives or preservatives, and a very bitter taste.
