Origin: Bulgaria
Botanical Name: Avena Sativa
Avena sativa, commonly known as oat, is a species of cereal grain grown for its seed. Oat seeds are typically oblong and light brown or tan in color. Rich in dietary fiber, protein, healthy fats, vitamins (such as B vitamins), and minerals (like iron, magnesium, and zinc). Oats are used in a variety of food products, including oatmeal, granola bars, and oat-based cereals. Oats are also used as feed for livestock due to their high nutritional value.
Using: Bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add 1-2 tablespoons of dried oat seeds or oat straw to the boiling water. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and strain the tea into a cup.
