Tarragon leaf refers to the leaves of the Tarragon plant, particularly Artemisia dracunculus, also known as French tarragon. It is a perennial herb belonging to the Asteraceae (sunflower) family and is widely used as a culinary herb due to its distinctive flavor. Tarragon is a green perennial shrub that is smooth and lacking in hairs and bristles. Tarragon has a unique flavor that is often described as bittersweet with hints of licorice or anise. Tarragon leaf is commonly used to flavor a variety of dishes, particularly in French cuisine. It pairs well with chicken, fish, eggs, vegetables, and sauces such as Béarnaise sauce.
Usage: Boil 1 cup water. Place 1 teaspoon dried tarragon leaves in a teapot, tea infuser, or directly into your cup. Once the water has reached a boil, pour it over leaves. Allow the leaves to steep in the hot water for about 5-10 minutes. Strain.
